Our community deserves an extraordinary library. It is a place where our children, teens, and adults find opportunities to connect with people and information in a beautiful, comfortable space. We don’t stop there. Outreach takes our programs and services outside the building.

Renee Nichols, Director, Pottsboro Library
Renee received a Marketing degree from Portland State University and joined the library as a project manager in late 2022 to assist with marketing, financial and organizational efforts. In 2024, she assumed the director role. She has been part of the Lake Texoma community since 2011 and made it her permanent home in 2018. In 2022, she retired from a 33-year career in retail.
She is a Montana native and visits often as all of her family still lives in Butte. She is married and her and her husband have three children and two Great Pyrenees. They all live locally, so they see them often. They have two grandchildren and love spending time with them.
She enjoys hanging out on the lake, travelling in their RV, and streaming the latest hit on TV. She is an avid walker, loves the outdoors and getting together with friends and family.

Dianne Connery, Development Director, Pottsboro Library
Dianne has been committed to rural public libraries since 2010. She earned a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Gerontology from the University of North Texas. Ms. Connery is actively invested in efforts to improve digital inclusion in rural communities. She is passionate about inspiring others and advocating for the work of rural libraries, with an emphasis on community resilience. The Pottsboro Library was named one of the “Top Three Best Small Libraries in America” in 2017. Ms. Connery was honored as an Innovator in Library Journal’s “Movers & Shakers class of 2021”. She was selected as the 2022 Texas Small Community Librarian of the Year and 2025 Texas Small Community Library Advocate of the Year.

Thea and her husband are new to Texas as of February 2022. She previously lived in Oregon and worked in healthcare. Thea has three grown children and is proud to have homeschooled all of them. Along with working at the library, she also serves on the Pottsboro Community Development Alliance Corporation 4a Board and enjoys volunteering at Hagerman Wildfire Refuge in Sherma. She enjoys nature, loves to travel and is passionate about reading.
Beth joined the library after several years at the Collin County History museum. She moved to Sherman in May of 2022 and enjoys the small-town vibe. She loves spending time with her grandkids and is an active member at her church. She likes to crochet, shop, and go on hikes around Texoma.

Amanda Stephens, Front Desk/Programming, Pottsboro Library
Amanda has been a resident of the Pottsboro area since 2022. She is a North Texas native, having grown up along the banks of Lake Ray Roberts near Pilot Point. She is a remote student at Texas Tech University and looks forward to graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Nutrition. She loves to cook and enjoys historical fiction novels. She is married to Dustin, Texoma’s MAC Tools distributor and has two sons, Memphis, who attends school in Pottsboro and Preston, a firefighter/paramedic for Denton Fire Department.

Noel Shoultz, Front Desk/Programming, Pottsboro Library
Noel has lived in Denison most of her life. She worked for Commodore Marine until retired. She started at the library in 2024 and enjoys all of the activity at the library. You can usually find her interacting with the kids in the Tech Hub!
